Btw, anyone going to see Shutter Island? Martin Scorsese is one of my favorite directors, so that's reason enough, but I'm reading the book right now, pretty good, prolly will finish by Friday, then see it Saturday.

Yeah, gonna try to see it sometime this weekend; not sure when exactly cause of work, but it will be done.

I usually dont go to the movies. Too $$. Ill just wait for it to come out on dvd

That is true, Houston, but to me some movies are worth the $5.50-$8.50 (that my theater charges) to see on the big screen. Like Avatar, I'm not planning on seeing it a second time because it's just a good looking average movie, seeing it on a TV wouldn't be the same.

With me it is a little different than $5.50-$8.50. You have to multiply that by at least 3 so you see it can add up especially after buying overpriced snacks.

Psh, you have pockets don't you? Just go to a gas station and shove some mentos or suckers in there. The popcorn is expensive though, but I'm not the biggest fan of popcorn, and i never get anything to drink, so all I ever buy is the ticket.

Well however immoral it is, if i even want candy i'm going to spend $1 on skittles at a gas station before i waste $4 at a theater. That's a good exercise in money management, Obama could learn something from me (jk(but srsly he's a dumbass when it comes to money, dont even try to defend him(srsly))). Besides, i've never seen a sign.

lmao... but, seriously, I have to agree... Spending 5 bucks on a box of candy so that the theater can profit even more from my "company" is bullshite... allowing your kids to bring in their own candy isn't such a bad thing... not like you're telling them to steal the candy they want. Anyways tho... no big deal, guess everyone has a different idea of what's right and wrong for their children.

The bottom line is in my case I am not going to drag my children down to a nasty loud expensive movie theater when I can wait a few months and rent it and watch it at our own convenience. I have a beautiful 60 inch HDTV with a Bose sound system and can stop the movie any time to use the restroom, change a diaper, get something to eat, whatever I want. The only way I would go to a theater is if it's an IMAX and it has to be a full blown IMAX not these MINI IMAX they have now. We have a full size one where I live so we might go there. Anyway, like I said before its a personal preference. Do what you want, its a free country( at least for awhile until the current administration starts taking away more of our freedoms)
